Kazakhstani government officials became esports players

In early January, a regular esports tournament among civil servants, the Qazaqstan Qyzmet Cyber Cup, was held at Astana IT University.

Participants competed in the FIFA 2023 discipline – the most popular football simulator on the Sony PlayStation 5 platform.

As is traditional, the tournament took place in a full-scale format: from online qualifiers within government institutions and national companies to grand finals in LAN mode.

The new edition of the Qyzmet Cup determined new prize winners in the FIFA 23 discipline.

Third place – 34-year-old Olzhas Nurbek, Head of the Department of Economic Integration at the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Second place – 39-year-old Kanat Shultikov, endoscopist, representative of the Astana City Health Department.

First place – 27-year-old Aldiyar Salkenov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Engineering at Astana IT University.

This tournament helps reveal civil servants from a new perspective, as people who keep up with the times, use new technologies, and are open to new global trends.

Official partners of the competition: 1XBET, QCF, Huawei, QAZAQSTAN QYZMET CUP, QAZAQSTAN SPORT LEAGUE, Astana IT University, as well as the Esports HUB esports academy and ABC Design.

According to the President of the Federation, in 2022 alone, the Qazaq Cybersport Federation organized 6 full-scale tournaments across Kazakhstan, with over 2,000 Kazakhstani esports players participating.
