The AMAN Online emergency assistance app is now available for download on the App Store and will be available on the Play Store in a couple of weeks. This is a development by a Kazakhstani startup founded by 26-year-old Aruzhan Mede. Aruzhan is a serial tech entrepreneur with a track record of launching a successful edtech startup and traditional businesses. The primary purpose of the new service is to protect women and children in situations where their lives are in danger, including domestic violence, attacks by strangers, robberies, and other criminal acts against potential victims.
AMAN Online connects victims with licensed private security agencies. According to preliminary tests, the maximum wait time for a user to receive assistance is 7–10 minutes until security personnel arrive.
AMAN Online operates on the principle of preventing, processing, and documenting crimes. The call can be canceled within 15 seconds if the button was pressed accidentally. Audio and video recordings are stored in cloud services and are deleted after two weeks if the police do not request the data. The app operates on a subscription basis. Currently, the service is available only to residents of Almaty and Astana. The startup team plans to initiate partnerships with crisis centers and create a community for women.
