Kazakhstan launches a government officials' AI training program with support from Google and Apolitical

The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with Google and Apolitical, announces the launch of the Build With AI for Public Sector 2025 program in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan becomes the first country in Central Asia and the Caucasus where training courses will be held as part of this initiative aimed at developing AI skills and improving the efficiency of public administration.

The initiative, developed by the Apolitical platform with the support of Google.org, the charitable division of Google, opens up unique opportunities for various categories of civil servants: from senior management to specialists implementing state policy in practice. The program aims to form key competencies of Kazakhstani civil servants in the field of AI, as well as to adapt international experience of digital transformation taking into account the needs and specifics of Kazakhstan.

The program started with an offline workshop at Astana Hub, which brought together 40 representatives of government agencies working in the field of digitalization and data management. Participants discussed with international experts the best global practices for implementing artificial intelligence in the public sector and shared their own experience.

The Build With AI for Public Sector 2025 program is based on the concept of AI Sprinters, as well as Government AI Campus, developed by the Apolitical platform with the support of Google.org. Government AI Campus by Apolitical is considered an authoritative center of knowledge and training for civil servants on issues of regulation and application of artificial intelligence technologies. More than 250,000 civil servants from 160 countries have already undergone training as part of this initiative, and now the program is being implemented for the first time in Central Asia.

The Build With AI for Public Sector program will be implemented in a multi-level format, covering both strategic and applied aspects. Training is divided into three levels in accordance with the competencies and professional tasks of participants: for senior management, for managerial staff of ministries and departments, and for all civil servants interested in studying AI, regardless of their position level.

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate of completion of the program. The results of the first stage of implementation, as well as the most successful cases of AI solution implementation, will be presented by the end of 2025.
