Kazakhstan enters the international arena of fidget sports in Abu Dhabi

Kazakhstani athletes and teams have officially begun their participation in the international tournament The Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025 powered by ADNOC — a major new-format sporting event combining physical sports and digital disciplines. The tournament is taking place in Abu Dhabi from December 18 to 23, 2025.

Fidgetal competitions are an innovative format in which classic sports disciplines are combined with esports: part of the competition takes place on a sports field, and part takes place in a virtual environment. For participants, this requires a combination of high physical fitness, team tactics, gaming skills, and quick reflexes, making the format one of the most dynamic and promising in modern sports.

The tournament draw determined the opponents for three Kazakhstani teams, which will compete in different disciplines:

— UEL Team — a fidgetal football team competing in Group A. The opponents of the Karaganda collective will be the teams Greni Smith, Mexq, and Red Moon. In the summer of 2025, UEL Team won the Road to Abu Dhabi qualifying tournament held in Astana, thereby earning the right to represent Kazakhstan on the international stage.

— PBC Astana — a basketball club competing in fidgetal basketball in Group B. The Kazakhstani team will face some of the strongest teams in the world, such as Bad Boys, Moskovsky, and Uzbig Team. PBC Astana also passed the national selection and is now demonstrating a format where classic basketball is complemented by a digital component.

— XGoat — the champion team of last year's tournament The Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2024, which will compete in the fidgetal shooter CS2. In this discipline, they will face teams Liga Pro Team, EndFastPls, Intersellars Apollo, E7, Minsk House, Mexico Quetzales, and Donstu Esports.

Tournament participants will compete not only for the title of best in their disciplines but also for a substantial prize fund. In fidgetal football, $400,000 is at stake, in fidgetal basketball — $500,000, and in the fidgetal shooter CS2 — $150,000.

More than 2,000 athletes from over 100 countries are participating in the competition, making the tournament one of the most significant international events in this new direction of sports.

For Kazakhstani fans, this is a unique opportunity to support their teams on the world stage and to see how domestic athletes are paving the way in the future of world sports — in fidgetal competitions.
