How did the Yulduz Tech Awards ceremony go

On December 24, 2024, an important event took place at the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan—the first Yulduz Tech Awards ceremony, dedicated to the achievements of women in the field of information technology. The goal of the event was to recognize their contributions to the development of IT, motivate them, and strengthen professional connections.

As part of the awards ceremony, 25 girls and women were honored with commemorative statuettes for their achievements in the field of information technology. These awards became a symbol of their hard work, professionalism, and inspiration for other women striving for success in IT. Additionally, an intellectual quiz was held during the event, where participants tested their knowledge about technologies and the contributions of women to their development. The winners of the quiz were awarded commemorative prizes.

Uzbekistan has achieved significant success in supporting women in the field of information technology. The country ranks first in the world for online learning on the Coursera platform, with women making up 49% of students. Programs such as "One Million Uzbek Programmers," IT-iste’dod, and compensation for international IT certification expenses provide young people with real opportunities to receive a global education. Furthermore, according to the Gender Equality and Governance Index, Uzbekistan rose from 103rd to 52nd place, which was also made possible by efforts to support women in IT and STEM fields.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for networking and exchanging experiences among technology professionals. It also highlighted the importance of education, mentorship, and support for women to further their career growth in IT.

The Yulduz Tech Awards are being held for the first time in Uzbekistan, with plans to make it an annual event aimed at continuing to support and develop women's potential in the field of information technology.
