By 2027, all residents of Kazakhstan will have access to the internet. This was announced by Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiev.
Over the past three years, more than 1 trillion tenge has been invested in the telecommunications sector, enabling the country's average internet speed to reach 94 Mbps. As part of the national project "Accessible Internet," by 2027, speeds will exceed 100 Mbps, and fiber-optic communication lines will be laid in 90% of rural settlements.
The remaining 10% of small and remote villages will be connected to the network via satellite technology. 323 million tenge has been allocated for the implementation of the project.
The initiative aims to reduce the digital divide between urban and rural areas, as well as to develop online education, business, and government services in the regions.
