IT Park Uzbekistan and NCSoft Corporation discussed potential cooperation to develop the game development industry in Uzbekistan.

The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation, led by Director of Business Development Jahongir Rajabov, held a meeting with representatives of NCSoft Corporation, including Vice President Chang Hyun Yong. The main topic of discussion was potential cooperation in the GameDev sector between Uzbekistan and South Korea, including knowledge exchange and the potential expansion of the company into new markets through our country.

Founded in 1997 and based in Pangyo, Seongnam, South Korea, NCSoft Corporation is a leading developer and publisher of video games, known for such massively multiplayer online games as Lineage and Guild Wars. The company employs 4,838 people.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the prospects of opening an NCSoft office in Uzbekistan, as well as the opportunities for local IT companies to provide outsourcing services for NCSoft Corporation projects. The idea of holding joint game development hackathons in Uzbekistan was also considered, which could stimulate the development of the country's GameDev industry and nurture specialists in this field.

NCSoft expressed significant interest in Uzbekistan as a promising location for opening an office. Among the key factors, the company noted the zero tax rate on royalties and the comprehensive support programs provided by IT Park. At the meeting, NCSoft representatives emphasized their intention to thoroughly explore the opportunities offered by Uzbekistan and study the country's IT landscape.
