The government of Kazakhstan is implementing digital technologies and AI in aviation: by 2030, the volume of documents will decrease by 43%, and procedural steps by 34%. Six international air hubs with multimodal logistics have been created, and new airports are being built in Kenderli, Zaysan, and Katon-Karagay.
The Government of Kazakhstan discussed the development of the aviation industry, focusing on the implementation of modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
One of the key areas was the expansion of automation and digitalization of the industry. In 2024, passengers were already provided with electronic documents and biometric identification in airports. This allowed for the provision of 21,000 state services in an online format, reducing bureaucratic burdens and eliminating the need for personal presence. It is expected that by 2030, digital transformation will reduce the volume of provided documents by 43% and decrease the number of procedural steps by 34%.
Special attention will be given to the application of artificial intelligence to optimize business processes. It is planned that AI algorithms will help speed up passenger service, enhance flight safety, and improve logistics for cargo transportation.
The Government also announced the creation of six international airport hubs, which will become strategic transit nodes. As part of this initiative, infrastructure modernization will be carried out, including the connection of road and rail networks, ensuring multimodal logistics according to global standards. Additionally, the construction of new airports in the resort areas of Kenderli, Zaysan, and Katon-Karagay is planned. As part of the overall digitalization strategy, the Ministry of Transport has been tasked with accelerating the automation of processes, implementing AI, and developing mechanisms for interaction between airlines and airports to enhance the efficiency of the industry.
