Kazakh FinTech startup Beksar announces the receipt of a $100,000 grant from the global Mastercard Strive initiative. Beksar is the only project from Kazakhstan within the program aimed at expanding financial inclusion for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide. The received funds will accelerate the implementation of embedded finance and the digitalization of retail outlets in the country.
Key achievements of the pilot: more than 100,000,000 tenge have already been issued to micro and small businesses through the "Get Funding" button in Beksar, with 0 bank visits and 0 unnecessary documents — all based on operational data from the retail outlet.
How the Beksar solution works:
- Data legitimacy — sales and inventory data are recognized by banks and microfinance organizations as a reliable source for scoring.
- Scoring in seconds, money in days. Partners access Beksar data via API without paperwork.
- Financial inclusion in action — classic loans, "ethical," and Islamic financial products are available through a single button.
More than 4,000 retail outlets have already been digitized. The project's goal is to reach 20,000 businesses across the country, 60% of which are women-led. The franchising model accelerates penetration into regions. The project supports the national Digital Agenda and the SME strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mastercard Strive is a global Mastercard initiative aimed at the digital transformation and financial inclusion of small businesses in developing countries.
Beksar was founded in 2021. The FinTech platform Beksar provides retail SMEs in Kazakhstan with digital automation of accounting and embedded access to financing without barriers.
