Canva has introduced the Dream Lab image generator, powered by Leonardo.ai technology (Phoenix model), which allows users to create images from text descriptions in various styles. Other AI tools have also been updated: Magic Write now features auto-fill, whiteboards have a summarization function, and the video editor includes automatic subtitles and animation.
Web design platform Canva has released updates, including a new image generator called Dream Lab. This tool is built on the technology of the startup Leonardo.ai, which Canva acquired earlier. Dream Lab uses the Phoenix model and allows users to create images from text descriptions in various styles, such as “3D render” and “Illustration.” The new feature improves work with photographic styles and images with multiple objects, and also allows referencing existing images for more precise control, similar to the Reference Image tool in Photoshop.
In addition to the new image generator, Canva has updated other AI tools. Magic Write, a text generation feature, has become more accurate and now supports text auto-completion. Whiteboards on the platform have gained an automatic summarization feature and real-time reaction stickers, making collaborative projects more interactive. Canva’s video editor has received new capabilities: automatic subtitle creation and additional animation effects.
