Anthropic has released a new artificial intelligence model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, which it calls the industry's first "hybrid AI reasoning model." It can answer questions instantly or with more extended analysis, depending on the user's choice.
The new model surpasses its predecessor, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and provides more accurate and well-reasoned answers. In tests involving complex tasks, Claude 3.7 Sonnet achieved high results, outperforming models from OpenAI and DeepSeek.
Claude 3.7 Sonnet will be available to all users and developers starting February 26, but the logical reasoning features will only be open to premium plan subscribers. The free version will offer the standard model without extended analysis capabilities.
The company also introduced Claude Code, a tool for automated programming. It allows users to perform tasks directly from the terminal, analyze code, and even push changes to GitHub. Claude Code will be available to a limited number of users in a beta testing phase.
