Alexey Maksimov has taken the helm of the payment system Humo

At an extraordinary shareholders' meeting of the National Interbank Processing Center, the operator of the Humo payment system, held on March 6, a decision was made to dismiss Shukhratbek Kurbanov from his position as acting chairman of the board.

Alexey Maksimov has been appointed as the new head of the center, with an employment contract signed for three years starting from March 7.

Maksimov graduated from the Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communications and the Tashkent Financial University. He began his career at the National Bank of Uzbekistan in 2000, where in 2014 he headed the Plastic Cards Department within the Currency Department.

Since August 2023, he has held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Octobank. 

The Humo payment system launched in 2019. In 2021, integration with Uzcard began, and since the summer of 2023, Humo ATMs have started accepting cards from the other system. Currently, work continues on connecting payment terminals.

In May 2024, Humo underwent reorganization into a joint-stock company, and at the end of the year, the Agency for State Assets Management sold 100% of the shares of the processing center to the payment service Paynet for $65 million, exceeding KPMG's valuation.

Previously, the FinTech group Kaspi showed interest in purchasing Humo; however, in November 2024, the company withdrew from the privatization process. Experts estimate the value of Humo at $60–80 million.
