5 AI companies that attracted the most investments in 2023

In 2023, AI startups attracted more than $68.7 billion, indicating a strong appetite among investors to support new players in this field. Technology giants such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon have invested heavily in generative AI developers.

The top five investment recipients were:

OpenAI received a $10 billion investment from Microsoft. In total, the startup raised approximately $11.3 billion in 2023.

The AI-based data analytics platform Databricks raised $500 million in the fall of 2023.

Mistral, the European counterpart to OpenAI, recently secured $415 million.
