Singapore-based startup SixSense has raised $8.5 million in a Series A funding round, bringing total investments to approximately $12 million. The AI-powered platform detects microchip defects on production lines in real time without requiring code writing and can be deployed in less than two days. The solution is already being used by GlobalFoundries and JCET, with over 100 million chips processed through the system.
Singaporean startup SixSense, founded by two female engineers, has created an AI platform that helps identify microchip defects in real time directly on the production line.
The company raised $8.5 million in a Series A round, bringing total investments to approximately $12 million. The round was led by Surge, a fund from Peak XV, formerly Sequoia India & SEA. Other investors included Alpha Intelligence Capital, FEBE, and others.
SixSense was founded in 2018 by Avni Agarwal and Akanksha Jagwani. Their goal is to use manufacturing data to detect issues early and improve product quality at factories.
SixSense offers a solution: the platform helps identify problems in advance, find root causes, and predict failures before they occur. The key difference is that the product is designed for engineers, not programmers. The model can be trained and launched in less than two days, without the need to write code.
So far, major manufacturers such as GlobalFoundries and JCET are already using SixSense. More than 100 million chips have passed through the system, which is compatible with equipment covering 60% of the global market. The startup works with factories in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Israel, and is beginning to enter the US market.
