South Korea will allocate $14 million for IT education in Uzbekistan
The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will fund the development of IT education in Uzbekistan. The total cost of the project will be $14 million, with the full amount provided by the Korean side.
The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and aims to develop the IT training ecosystem, support youth employment, and stimulate technological entrepreneurship.
As part of the initiative, digital education infrastructure will be created in the country. Specifically, two modern IT hubs are planned to be opened in Nukus and Qarshi, and 14 IT centers will be built and equipped in seven districts. The implementation of the infrastructure component of the project is scheduled for 2026–2032.
The educational program is designed for four years and will cover key areas: artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, programming, the Internet of Things, and online marketing. It also includes training and professional development for 500 specialists and teachers in the IT sector.
A separate component will involve launching startup incubation programs with the participation of experts from South Korea, which is expected to enhance entrepreneurial activity among young people.
The project is expected to help modernize the education system, expand access to digital skills, and increase the competitiveness of young specialists in the labor market, while also accelerating the formation of a sustainable digital economy in the country.
