Women in Tech Kazakhstan launches the first women-led venture fund in Central Asia
Women in Tech Kazakhstan, together with its partners, will launch the first venture fund in Central Asia focused exclusively on supporting startups founded by women. The announcement was made by the organization's head, Asem Bolatjan, at the Female Founders & Women in Ventures meeting held at the Promenade business center in Almaty.
The fund will invest in technology, FinTech, creative, and sustainable projects, providing female entrepreneurs with access to capital, mentorship support, and international opportunities. Anyone can invest in the fund regardless of the contribution size, opening up the opportunity for every woman in the region to become an investor.
The legal registration is planned to be completed by the end of 2025. The initiative has been supported by key market players, including Asel Tasmagambetova from ChBF "Sabi", Zhana Karsybaeva from Big Sky Capital, Liene Roberts from She Loves Tech, Abai Absameta from Silkroad Angels Club, and Aslan Sultanov from White Hill Capital. The new fund aims to reduce the gender gap in the venture industry and serve as a catalyst for developing an inclusive investment ecosystem in the region.
