Kazakhstani citizens obtaining a driver's license for the first time can now submit an application via the "CSO" mobile app — entirely online, without the need to visit offices in person. The service automatically verifies all required documents: a medical certificate, proof of completion of driving school, and the absence of restrictions, using integration with government databases.
The project is being implemented as a pilot jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Development. It is available nationwide and will run until September 1, 2026. During this period, authorities will assess the convenience and efficiency of the digital service and collect feedback from citizens.
According to developers, the online application reduces processing time and minimizes errors that often occur during manual document verification. Users can track the status of their application in the app and receive notifications at each stage of the process.
The launch of such a digital service is an important step toward full digitalization of government services in Kazakhstan, reducing queues at CSOs, and simplifying interactions between citizens and government agencies.
