Uzbekistan is allocating $50 million for AI infrastructure and has launched a program comprising 100 priority projects. A small GPU cluster for healthcare has been deployed, and a cluster based on the NVIDIA Blackwell B200 is planned for installation by the end of 2024. Educational initiatives include the free aistudy.ai platform from the UAE and workforce training programs.
As part of the strategic course toward technological modernization of the country, it was announced that $50 million would be allocated to create infrastructure for the implementation of artificial intelligence.
A program consisting of 100 priority projects aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into the activities of government institutions was presented to the head of state of Uzbekistan. Some of these initiatives have already received approval from the president.
It was also reported that a small GPU cluster based on NVIDIA chips has been launched. This cluster will primarily be used to implement AI in healthcare. At the same time, work is underway to create a large computing center—a major cluster that will serve as the foundation for the country's large-scale AI infrastructure.
Special attention is being paid to workforce training and improving the digital literacy of the population. At the president's directive, educational initiatives have been launched, including the creation of the online platform aistudy.ai, which offers free AI courses provided by the United Arab Emirates. In the future, the platform will host educational programs developed in collaboration with other countries.
By the end of 2024, a powerful GPU cluster based on the latest NVIDIA Blackwell B200 processors is planned to be installed. This resource will be used both for testing AI projects in a sandbox environment and for training domestic models.
A differentiated access system to computing resources has been established: socially oriented projects will be able to use them free of charge, while commercial products will have access on a paid basis. Additionally, domestic startups will gain access to the necessary data for training models, creating a favorable environment for growth and experimentation in the field of artificial intelligence.
