President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the development of artificial intelligence technologies. The document provides for the creation of a national AI portal, AI.gov.uz, which will begin operations by the end of 2025. It will collect data on state and private AI projects, educational initiatives, and startups.
By 2026, more than 100 AI-related projects are planned for implementation in the fields of government administration, economy, and social policy. Fifteen AI laboratories will be established at universities, and in 2026, the first Presidential AI Startup Competition will take place with a prize fund of $1 million.
Additionally, a corpus of the Uzbek language will be created as the foundation for developing a national AI language model. All state databases will be consolidated into a single data center, and the use of AI will become one of the criteria for assessing the digital maturity of government agencies and enterprises.
