Global Tech Weekend begins preparations for 2027 with ambitious plans and a new format. On December 5, 2026, an official event dedicated to the launch of Global Tech Weekend 2027 will take place at Mtatsminda Hall. Organizers will present the concept and plans for the coming year, the international development strategy, and new partnerships.
The main event of the evening will be a pitch session on the Mtatsminda Ferris wheel, where startups will present their projects to international investors directly inside the cabins.
“Pitch on the Ferris Wheel”: Six Minutes and One Rotation
Organizers sought a format that would allow them to go beyond a standard business meeting and turn a startup presentation into a real business opportunity. Thus, the idea of holding a pitch session on the Ferris wheel emerged.
For the first time in history, the Mtatsminda Ferris wheel will be entirely dedicated to startups and international investors who will come to Tbilisi specifically to participate in the event through the Global Tech Weekend international network.
Each founder will receive six minutes—one full rotation of the Ferris wheel—to present their startup. All presentations will be broadcast live, allowing an audience beyond the cabins to tune in. The winner will be announced later in the evening at the awards ceremony.
According to the organizers, the goal of this format is not just to create a memorable event, but also to establish connections between startups and international investors that could lead to long-term cooperation.
Applications for participation in the pitch session are now open. Startups and investors can submit them via the following links:

In 2027, we aim to further expand GTW’s international presence, increase our partner network, and strengthen ties between cities and ecosystems.
New strategic partnerships hold a special place in this vision. We are not just scaling up our events; we are building an international network whose value lies in continuous partner interaction, knowledge exchange, and access to new markets,” said Medea Dzhandzhgava, CEO of Global Tech Weekend.
