Author - Mansur Ismagulov
In Uzbekistan, starting from 2026, artificial intelligence lessons will be introduced in senior grades of schools. This will continue the IT education that began to be implemented in the first grade in 2024.
Specialized branches of schools named after Al-Khwarizmi, Mirzo Ulugbek, and Ibn Sina will also be opened in the regions, affiliated with local technical universities. The best graduates will have the opportunity to enroll directly into the second year of the affiliated university.
To launch AI lessons, it is planned to equip 2000 classrooms with computers and 6300 with interactive boards. Funds for this are included in the state budget for next year.
The President also drew attention to the issue of digitalization: in 144 districts, micro-districts of schools have not yet been determined, which means that about 8000 educational institutions still admit students under the old system. By autumn 2026, an electronic system for admission and attendance tracking should be implemented in all schools.
