Schools in Tajikistan have begun conducting lessons on artificial intelligence.

The Artificial Intelligence Council under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan has launched a pilot project to introduce AI lessons into school education. The first classes have already begun at five educational institutions: Dushanbe International School, Contofield International School, the private school "Navovar," the gymnasium "Kafolat," and the Tajik-Russian Lyceum-Boarding School "Khotam and PV."

As part of the project, the schools conducted a test to assess students' knowledge of digital technologies in order to adapt the program to their needs. Another five schools will join the project next week. Currently, AI lessons are being held as extracurricular activities, but by 2026, they are planned to be integrated into the school curriculum nationwide.

Teachers have undergone training in key AI concepts and teaching methods. The program aims to enhance AI literacy among schoolchildren, including studying the basics of artificial intelligence, its applications in various fields, and solving practical problems. At the end of the course, students will present their own projects demonstrating their knowledge and skills.

The initiative is aimed at forming a generation ready for the challenges of the digital age and creating an artificial intelligence ecosystem accessible to every schoolchild in the country.
