Author - Mansur Ismagulov
National standards for the use of artificial intelligence in the system of secondary and vocational education have been introduced in Kazakhstan for the first time. The joint order on this was signed by the Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev and the Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiev.
The document covers the period from 2025 to 2029 and provides for the integration of AI topics into curricula, the creation of digital textbooks, the development of AI literacy among schoolchildren and students, as well as the professional development of teachers according to a three-level model.
Special emphasis is placed on protecting children's rights and preserving the professional authority of teachers. In schools and colleges, unified rules of academic integrity and ethics for the use of AI will be in effect.
Kazakhstan has become one of the first countries to develop its own national approach to implementing artificial intelligence in education, based on international recommendations from UNESCO, OECD, and the EU.
