Construction of a new IT park has begun in Samarkand

Construction of a new IT park, which will become one of the key elements in the development of the region's digital infrastructure, has officially begun in Samarkand. The project is being implemented as part of the state program for the development of the IT industry and the digital economy of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the Samarkand Region Khokimiyat, the management of IT Park Uzbekistan, and representatives of the contracting company, the Chinese firm Shanghai Construction Group, participated in the construction launch ceremony. The project is being implemented under the EPC+F model, which provides for a full cycle of work—from design and construction to financing.

The new IT park will be located on a site of approximately one hectare. The complex will include office spaces for IT companies and startups, educational facilities, coworking areas, conference halls, and infrastructure for hosting technological events. The project aims to create favorable conditions for the development of technological entrepreneurship and the training of qualified personnel in the field of information technology.

According to IT Park Uzbekistan, the launch of the new facility will expand the regional IT ecosystem, attract local and foreign IT companies to Samarkand, and create new job opportunities for young specialists. It is expected that the IT park will become a growth point for startups operating in software development, outsourcing, Fintech, artificial intelligence, and other digital sectors.

The construction of the new IT park aligns with the goals of the "Digital Uzbekistan – 2030" strategy, which envisions the development of IT infrastructure not only in the capital but also in the regions of the country. Authorities expect the project to enhance Samarkand's investment appeal and increase its role as one of Uzbekistan's technological hubs.

The completion dates for construction and commissioning will be announced separately. Once launched, the IT park will become part of the unified IT Park Uzbekistan network and will operate under the same resident support standards, including tax benefits, educational programs, and assistance in accessing international markets.
