In Kazakhstan, more than 200 datasets for artificial intelligence developers have been opened.
Representatives of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting with the IT community in the format of an open dialogue. At the event, businesses, startups, and independent developers were informed about state support measures, as well as access to data and computing resources for creating domestic solutions in the field of artificial intelligence.
The meeting took place in the format of "presentation + demo." Participants were shown tools that the state provides to accelerate technological development. Developers are given access to government data and computing power for processing it — key resources for creating AI products.
Deputy Minister Dmitry Mun noted that the ministry aims to remove barriers between government information resources and development teams. Now, companies and startups can not only use ready-made datasets but also directly request information from the ministry necessary for developing specific products. If certain data is lacking for training models, developers can submit a request, after which the ministry will help form the required dataset.
One of the key tools is the Ashyq Data portal, created jointly with National Information Technologies. The platform already offers about 200 datasets — ranging from real estate analytics to medical indicators. Of these, 73 sets are published for the first time. The data is updated weekly and provided free of charge. The portal serves as a centralized "showcase" of anonymized data, combining more than 120 government databases.
In addition to data access, developers were offered tools for training neural networks. Ilyas Makashev, Advisor to the CEO of Astana Hub, presented the AlemLLM platform, which provides companies with computing power for working with AI models through a ticketing system. The meeting demonstrated the registration process and connection to the service's resources.
Participants also discussed areas where artificial intelligence can be applied in the public sector in the coming years. Aliya Ospanova, CEO of the Center for Support of the Digital Government, outlined plans for the digitalization of public services over the next three years, which will help IT companies understand future demand for technological solutions.
The meeting concluded with a discussion during which representatives of the IT business asked questions about data access, cooperation mechanisms, and the launch of pilot projects. The ministry emphasized that such meetings will become regular to foster interaction between the state and the technological community.
