In Baku, students presented their startup ideas at the University Demo Day

On February 5, 2026, the ADA University hosted the University Demo Day event, dedicated to student startup ideas. The event took place for the fifth time and was organized as part of the SABAH.academy initiative and the Baku ID event series.

The goal of University Demo Day is to provide students with the opportunity to present their projects to a wide audience, as well as to foster the development of their organizational, leadership, and presentation skills.

This year, 12 teams from six universities participated in the event, including ADA University, Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, and Baku Higher School of Oil.

During the Demo Day, student teams presented their startup ideas, received feedback from the jury, and had the opportunity to attract investments. After the presentations, participants and event guests were able to learn more about the projects in the Startup Fair exhibition zone, followed by the awarding of winners.

The first place was taken by the ResearchEx team, which received a 100% scholarship for tuition in selected courses with the support of ABB Tech Academy.

The second place went to the MagentAI team, which received a 60% scholarship.

The third place was taken by the FocsMode team, awarded a 40% scholarship.

The winners were determined by the jury based on criteria such as the innovativeness of the idea, alignment with market requirements, and the quality of the presentation.

Additionally, the projects Evalu, Climasel, and PayZone were selected for the SABAH.lab incubation program.

Over the past four years, University Demo Day has become an important platform for students interested in developing in the field of business and entrepreneurship, providing them with the opportunity to connect with potential investors and take their first steps in the startup ecosystem.
