In Astana, as part of the city-wide celebration of Nauryz, tests of an autonomous vehicle were conducted. The demonstration drive took place in the format of Digital Nauryz and became part of a program aimed at popularizing modern technologies among a wide audience.
The development and programming of the vehicle were carried out by specialists from the Lu Ban Workshop of the D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University. They also created a route map for the demonstration drive.
The organizers were the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Astana Akimat and Astana Innovations. The drive took place at the venue of the festive events, where guests were able to see the operation of autonomous transport live and evaluate its capabilities.
During the demonstration, the autonomous vehicle showed the potential for integrating artificial intelligence technologies into Smart City infrastructure. Solutions in the fields of navigation, data processing, and interaction with the urban environment were demonstrated.
It is noted that in the future, such technologies are planned to be gradually introduced into urban infrastructure. Among the promising directions is the launch of autonomous taxis as part of the development of an intelligent transport system.
In 2026, Nauryz in Kazakhstan is taking place in a new format, Digital Nauryz, coinciding with the declared Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. The implementation of such initiatives demonstrates a new approach to the holiday, where national traditions are combined with modern technologies, creating opportunities for citizens to become familiar with digital solutions.
