The first demonstration flight of an air taxi took place in Astana.
On July 24, the first demonstration flight of an air taxi — the passenger eVTOL AutoFlight Prosperity — took place in Astana. This electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft is designed for a pilot and five passengers, capable of reaching speeds up to 200 km/h and covering distances of up to 200 kilometers.
For safety reasons, the first public flight was conducted without passengers.
The event was organized by the Kazakh company Alatau Advance Air Group in collaboration with the Chinese manufacturer AutoFlight.
The demonstration marked another step in the development of Urban Air Mobility in Kazakhstan.
The first eVTOL flights in the country took place in May 2026 in the city of Alatau, where a special legal regime was established for this purpose. Later, amendments were made to the legislation, establishing for the first time the legal status of eVTOLs, vertiports, and the unmanned air traffic management system.
Thus, Kazakhstan has joined the ranks of countries developing urban air mobility technologies, alongside the United States, China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and EU countries.
