In Astana, the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies opened.
Artificial intelligence is becoming one of the key priorities for technological development in Kazakhstan, which makes it especially important for young people to acquire digital skills from an early age. TUMO Astana goes beyond just teaching; it implements an effective approach that engages children and fosters a lasting interest in learning. Every child has boundless potential, and at the heart of TUMO Astana lies a unique environment that supports this interest and motivates teenagers to seek new solutions and develop future-ready skills. The opening of such a center in Astana is an important step in developing human capital and integrating Kazakhstan into the global educational landscape. In the near future, branches are planned to open in Almaty, Aktobe, and the Akmola Region, along with the expansion of the TUMO Classroom format in other regions. This will ensure equal access to modern education for teenagers across the entire country.
The TUMO Astana Center for Creative and Digital Technologies officially opened its doors in Astana. It has become the first project of the international TUMO network in Central Asia and is located on the premises of the alem.ai artificial intelligence center.
The opening ceremony took place during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to alem.ai. The event was also attended by government representatives, international partners, and industry leaders.
Magzhan Madiev, CEO of Astana Hub
The center is designed for teenagers aged 12 to 18 and offers free education with no entrance requirements. The educational program covers 11 fields, including generative artificial intelligence, programming, game development, animation, 3D modeling, robotics, design, and digital music.
Training is based on the international TUMO methodology and takes place in several stages: independent study of materials on the TUMO World platform, participation in practical workshops, and project work in MasterLabs. Upon completion of the program, students create their own digital portfolio.
Pegor Papazyan, Director of Development at TUMO
We are delighted to introduce the innovative TUMO educational model in Kazakhstan and open our first center in Central Asia. The partnership with the international innovation cluster Astana Hub is an important step in fulfilling our global mission—to teach teenagers the digital and creative skills necessary for the future. TUMO Astana provides local youth with access to a world-class educational program. To date, more than 100,000 students worldwide have already completed training under this model. Kazakhstan's policy aimed at developing digital education fully aligns with the philosophy of TUMO, and we look forward to becoming part of the country's innovative educational ecosystem.
The center will be able to educate up to 5,000 schoolchildren annually. The project is implemented with the participation of Astana Hub, the Alem.ai Foundation, and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The TUMO network is already present in several countries, including Armenia, France, Germany, Portugal, Japan, the United States, and India. The opening of new centers in other countries and the expansion of the project in regions of Kazakhstan are planned in the near future.
