On August 12-13, 2025, the third regional training under the Women ICT Frontier Initiative — Digital Transformation program took place in Almaty, organized by the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Initially, the training was conducted in Russian, making it accessible to a larger number of women entrepreneurs from Central Asian countries. Localization of the training was made possible through the support of "Bank CenterCredit" and partnership with leading women's communities in technology and entrepreneurship: Women in Tech Kazakhstan, She Business Community, and Women in Business.
Trainers and entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan participated in the event. The presence of representatives from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan and other regional countries underscored the importance of the program for strengthening cooperation and sharing experience.
WIFI DX aims to develop digital skills among women entrepreneurs to enhance their competitiveness in the digital economy. The two-day program included courses on e-commerce, digital marketing, data analysis, digital security, business continuity planning, and the implementation of artificial intelligence in marketing and sales.
Launched by APCICT/ESCAP in 2016, the program continues to adapt to the needs of women entrepreneurs. The regional edition of WIFI DX will serve as a foundation for future localized and joint initiatives in Central Asia.
