Kolesa JunDay’26 will take place in Almaty for students and entry-level professionals
On April 25, Almaty will host Kolesa JunDay’26 — one of the largest IT events for students and entry-level professionals in Kazakhstan. The conference will take place at Bakhchysarai and is expected to bring together over 1,200 participants.
The organizer is Kolesa Group, which has been hosting Kolesa JunDay since 2019. Over this time, the event has become one of the key platforms for introducing newcomers to the industry. In 2026, the conference format was updated: organizers enhanced the practical component, added new interactive formats, and expanded opportunities for networking with experts.
The main goal of Kolesa JunDay is to help students and entry-level professionals understand how IT work operates, identify which skills are truly in demand in the market, and learn how to build a successful career start.
The event program includes several tracks.
On the main stage, there will be presentations and workshops by IT specialists. Speakers will discuss the skills newcomers need to enter the profession, the mistakes that beginner developers most often encounter, and how to plan further development within the industry. After each presentation, there will be a Q&A session where participants can directly interact with speakers and clarify any details of interest.
One of the key innovations will be the Open Talk format. These are small group discussions of up to 10 people, allowing participants to dive deeper into relevant topics alongside practicing specialists. Discussions will cover backend, mobile, product management, marketing, design, as well as data science and analytics. This format enables more personalized interaction and provides the opportunity to receive detailed feedback.
Special attention is given to the career track. In the Career Space zone, participants can ask any questions about employment and career development in IT. Topics include resume writing, interview preparation, employer expectations, and career growth within companies. Additionally, participants’ resumes will be reviewed in this zone, providing practical advice and increasing their chances of successful employment.
Besides educational and career components, the program includes interactive activities. Participants can look forward to IT discussions, themed games, quizzes, and practical tasks for developers and designers. These formats aim to reinforce knowledge and engage attendees in the professional community.
Participating in Kolesa JunDay offers not only the opportunity to gain up-to-date knowledge but also to better understand which IT direction suits a particular participant, learn about real market requirements, ask questions to active professionals, and expand professional networks.
