The 1st Angel Club — a community for supporting early-stage startups — has opened in Almaty.

On August 21, Activat VC hosted an event that brought together early-stage startups and business angels.

Projects with valuations up to $2 million presented on stage. Three startups received prizes from SmArt.Point — subscriptions to coworking spaces and conference rooms.

As part of the event, the 1st Angel Club — the First Angel Club — was officially launched. This is a new initiative aimed at supporting startups at the earliest stages, when founders already have initial results but do not yet meet the criteria for venture funds.

Even at the first event, its founding members emerged; angels showed interest in the startups, and initial contacts were made. This is a process that takes time, but we are confident it will yield benefits for both investors and founders.

Activat VC thanks all participants, as well as colleagues from venture funds, for their support.
