IT Park Uzbekistan and the Chinese company Ori Group have agreed to launch joint projects. During a meeting between representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, led by the Director for Export of Services Mahliyo Muksinova, and a Chinese delegation headed by Feng Qian, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ori Group, prospects for digital and gaming projects, educational initiatives, and opportunities to attract Chinese technologies and investments to Uzbekistan were discussed.
Founded in 2006, Ori Group is considered one of the leading Chinese companies in the creative industry, operating in animation, film and television, the gaming industry, esports, international education, cultural heritage, fashion, and cultural tourism. The company collaborates with more than 70 countries worldwide.
Earlier in 2024, Ori Group announced the launch of a gaming platform and ecosystem in Saudi Arabia with investments of $100 million and plans to expand its team to 300 specialists over three years, with projected revenue of $1 billion. The company also invested $200 million in infrastructure development in the UAE, annually exports gaming content worth $60 million, and implements cultural and educational projects with partners in the Middle East and Africa, promoting digital cultural industries on a global scale.
During the negotiations, the main focus was placed on educational initiatives: discussions covered the launch of short-term intensive courses, experience sharing, and internships in IT, animation, and game development. IT Park Uzbekistan presented its activities and game development directions, sparking strong interest from the Chinese side in opening their offices in Uzbekistan, including details about infrastructure, business conditions, employee hiring, resident support programs, and talent attraction mechanisms.
Particular interest was shown in promoting local Uzbek games in the global market, especially in the MENA region. Additionally, opportunities for opening offices and implementing joint game development projects were discussed.
Such cooperation will strengthen IT Park Uzbekistan's positions in the creative economy and gaming industry, provide access to a broad international partner network, accelerate workforce training through educational programs, and help expand the export of creative IT services.
