Uber is adding new ways to purchase concert tickets and make restaurant reservations to its app.

Uber has always aimed to be more than just a taxi broker. The company introduced a new feature called "Explore," allowing customers to buy concert tickets, reserve tables, and receive discounts on rides to popular destinations.

As of March 1, Uber customers in North America will see a new tab when they open the app. Tapping it reveals numerous recommendations for live events and places to visit.

To achieve this, Uber has integrated with Yelp and PredictHQ. If a customer's taxi destination is among the "Explore" points (such as a restaurant), they will be offered a 15% discount up to $10. Uber views this as a way to enhance its existing product and encourage customers to go beyond their usual rides.
