The American startup Fal, founded in 2021 by two engineers from Turkey, has raised $140 million in a Series D funding round. The round included new investors — Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and NVIDIA, while existing partners also continued their participation. As a result of the deal, the company's valuation reached $4.5 billion.
Fal positions itself as a global infrastructure platform for generative media, offering APIs and serverless GPU clusters for developers and corporate clients worldwide. The platform already serves hundreds of companies and millions of developers, serving as the technological foundation for building products based on generative AI.
The raised investments will be directed toward international scaling of the team and infrastructure, as well as the development of next-generation technologies that Fal identifies as the future of Generative Media.
At the same time, the company announced the launch of the Generative Media Fund — a fund to support startups and teams working in the field of generative media.
Currently, the Fal team consists of about 70 employees, and the company continues active recruitment in engineering, product development, design, go-to-market, and operational development.
