Google announced the launch of several new features in Search, designed to help users plan trips more easily, find great deals, and complete bookings faster.
Canvas — a tool in AI Mode that now allows users to create personalized travel itineraries. Simply describe the type of vacation you want, and the system will generate a ready-made plan in the side panel using:
— up-to-date flight and hotel data
— information from Google Maps, including photos and reviews
— curated lists of restaurants and entertainment options, taking into account distances and preferences.
Users can ask clarifying questions, make changes, and return to their plan at any time through the AI Mode history. The feature is available on computers in the US for participants in the Labs experiment.
The company has expanded the availability of Flight Deals — an AI-powered service for finding discounted airfare. It was previously available in the US, Canada, and India, and is now accessible in more than 200 countries and in over 60 languages.
Users can simply describe where and when they want to travel, and the AI will select the best options based on price.
AI Mode now helps not only with planning but also with booking — such as restaurant tables, event tickets, or beauty and health services. Users describe their preferences, and the system searches for available options across various platforms, providing a list with direct links.
Partners include OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, Vivid Seats, Booksy, Fresha, and Vagaro.
Restaurant booking is already available to AI Mode users in the US. Event and service booking is available for Labs participants.
Google is also working on enabling users to complete flight and hotel bookings directly within AI Mode in the future. The company is collaborating with Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott, IHG, and other major industry players.
