Startup with Armenian roots Newo.ai has received $25 million in investments
San Francisco-based startup Newo.ai closed a $25 million Series A funding round, bringing its total raised investment to $32 million. The round was led by Ratmir Timashev, founder of Veeam. The company develops an AI platform for automating call and message handling for small and medium-sized businesses.
Newo.ai creates virtual AI administrators that answer phone calls, SMS, and WhatsApp messages around the clock, schedule client appointments, qualify leads, and transfer conversations to a human operator when necessary. The platform runs on Google Vertex AI and uses the Gemini 2.5 Flash model for fast and naturally sounding responses.
According to the company, Newo.ai's revenue doubled by the end of 2025, and the number of active AI agents exceeded 15,000. Platform clients are already seeing significant financial benefits: for example, the dental clinic chain Image Orthodontics earned an additional $400,000 in a quarter by handling missed calls during non-business hours.
Additional growth momentum came from a partnership deal with hosting provider IONOS, which gave 6.2 million small and medium-sized companies worldwide access to the platform.
The company was founded in 2023 by David Young, an entrepreneur from Armenia, Livia Rein, Alex Novitsky, and Vyacheslav Sledkin. A key feature of Newo.ai's technology is its Zero-Hallucination architecture—a system of multiple AI agents that cross-check voice and text responses, reducing the risk of errors in real-world usage scenarios.
Unlike competitors focusing on demo capabilities, Newo.ai emphasizes reliability, scalability, and a white-label distribution model. The platform is not sold directly to businesses but through partners—telecom operators, hosting companies, SaaS platforms, and agencies—that can offer the AI receptionist under their own brand.
The raised funds will be used to expand the product line, enter new industries, grow the partner network (currently over 200 partners), and deepen integration with Gemini for more complex business scenarios.
