Startup Mira Murati's Thinking Machines Lab has announced a collaboration with Nvidia
Nvidia technologies underpin the entire artificial intelligence industry. This partnership will accelerate our ability to create AI that people can adapt to their own needs.
AI laboratory Thinking Machines Lab, co-founded by OpenAI co-founder Mira Murati, has announced a strategic partnership with technology company Nvidia. The agreement entails a multi-year collaboration and the use of Nvidia’s computing systems for the development of artificial intelligence.
As part of the deal, Thinking Machines Lab plans to deploy at least one gigawatt of Nvidia Vera Rubin computing systems, which are set to be introduced in 2026. Infrastructure deployment will begin in 2027. Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
Nvidia will also make a strategic investment in Thinking Machines Lab. The startup, founded in February 2025, has already raised over $2 billion in funding from venture capital firms including Andreessen Horowitz and Accel, as well as from corporate investors such as AMD’s venture capital division.
According to the company, the startup’s current valuation exceeds $12 billion. Thinking Machines Lab is developing artificial intelligence models capable of delivering reproducible and stable results. In the fall of 2025, the company unveiled its first product—an API called Tinker.
The partnership also includes joint development of AI model training and serving systems optimized for Nvidia’s architecture.

The deal reflects the growing demand for computing power among AI companies. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang previously predicted that by the end of the decade, spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure could reach $3–4 trillion.
For comparison, in 2025, OpenAI entered into a computing power agreement with Oracle valued at approximately $300 billion.
