The creators of Pinterest and Twitter are launching a next-generation social network — Tangle
Creators of the well-known platforms Pinterest and Twitter, Biz Stone and Evan Sharp, have introduced a new social network called Tangle, which fundamentally changes the usual mechanics of user interaction. Instead of likes, reposts, and endless scrolling, the main goal here is to help people achieve their personal objectives.
In Tangle, users set personal goals. These can be anything: from learning a foreign language to regular exercise or developing new skills. Based on these goals, the platform offers recommendations and materials that help achieve them, while friends and followers can send words of support and motivate progress.
According to the creators, Tangle was designed as an antidote to traditional social networks, where the focus is on engagement through likes and viral content. Instead, the new platform emphasizes mindful use of technology, personal effectiveness, and community support.
At the moment, the social network operates by invitation only and is in a testing phase. In the future, developers plan to expand functionality and open access to a wider audience.
The project is being developed through the startup West Co., founded by Stone and Sharp in 2023, and represents an experimental platform for users who want to use social networks not just for entertainment but also for self-improvement and achieving goals.
