The "Digital Passport of a Volunteer" was introduced in Kazakhstan.
An introduction to the "Digital Passport of a Volunteer" project, developed by the Qazaq IT Community public organization in Almaty, took place. The new platform enables volunteer organizations to maintain a digital record of participants and their activities. The project received support from the Digitalization Department and the Youth Policy Department of the Almaty City Administration.
The event was held at the Promenade business space with the participation of representatives from state agencies, the IT community, volunteer organizations, and public initiatives. Representatives of the Almaty City Administration also attended the presentation.
Attendees included Kymbat, head of the Almaty City Volunteer Front-Office, as well as representatives from the "Niti Dobra," UNICEF, "Lider," Lider.kz, and The First organizations and initiatives.
The contribution of volunteers will be visible and measurable
Today, thousands of Kazakhstani citizens participate in social, educational, ecological, charitable, and technological initiatives. However, information about their activities is often stored separately in various organizations, and the experience gained and contributions made are not systematically recorded. Now, volunteers from Qazaq IT Community and partner organizations can use this digital tool.
The platform:
— allows registration for participation in volunteer projects and events
— stores information about achievements and acquired skills
— verifies accumulated volunteer experience
— forms a digital portfolio for volunteers
— increases participant motivation
— facilitates interaction between volunteers and organizations
— enables organizations to find the volunteers they need.
Asem Bolatjan, Founder of Qazaq IT Community
Volunteering is not only about helping society but also an important experience that develops leadership, organizational, and professional skills. The digital passport allows preserving volunteers' contributions, demonstrating their concrete achievements, and opening doors to new opportunities.
During the presentation, the project team provided detailed information about the platform's concept, development stages, and key features.
Timur Ibragimov, Product Owner of the project, presented the product's goals, development direction, and future plans. Volunteer developers Egor Sychev and Kazbek Askarov demonstrated the platform's technical capabilities and explained how a volunteer's digital profile is formed.
Aigerim Kylybaeva, CEO of Qazaq IT Community
Our goal is to create a convenient and understandable platform that volunteers in every region of Kazakhstan can use. It should not only store information but also become a comprehensive tool for recognizing, developing, and supporting volunteer activities.
In the next stage, the platform's functionality will be further improved, partner organizations will join, and preparations will be made to scale the project across regions of Kazakhstan. Using the platform is free.
