The President of Uzbekistan proposed creating a unified digital space in Central Asia
Central Asia should become a competitive hub for education, science, and innovation in the field of big data.
The President of Uzbekistan advocated for the creation of a unified digital infrastructure in the region and joint efforts to adapt to climate change.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev called on the countries of Central Asia to build a cohesive digital infrastructure and unite their efforts in climate adaptation.
At an informal consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, the leader of Uzbekistan noted that the previously fragmented region is gradually consolidating around common development goals. He emphasized the need for closer coordination amid a complex and unpredictable international situation.
According to him, this requires a stable architecture of regional interaction—based on cooperation institutions, direct contacts between sectoral agencies and regions, as well as long-term joint programs in key areas.
Priorities include strengthening coordination within intergovernmental structures and the “Central Asia Plus” format, as well as developing steps to enhance trade-economic and transport links, expand industrial and technological chains, and launch investment platforms.

The region can achieve this status by creating a comprehensive infrastructure that integrates human resources, artificial intelligence technologies, data centers, and energy capacities, as well as by developing common digital services.
Mirziyoyev paid particular attention to environmental protection, noting the direct impact of climate change on the economy, human health, water security, and energy security, and urged regional countries to seek long-term solutions for adapting to new risks.
