Pavel Durov will open an artificial intelligence laboratory in Kazakhstan

Telegram founder and social network "VKontakte" creator Pavel Durov announced the opening of a new research laboratory, Alem AI, in Kazakhstan. He made the announcement on October 2 during the plenary session of the Digital Bridge 2025 international forum in Astana.

According to the entrepreneur, the first project of Alem AI will be the joint development of Telegram and the Kazakh supercomputer cluster created by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence. Durov noted that the future network will be based on three key principles:

— transparency, ensured by the TON blockchain
— efficiency, achieved through smart contracts and market dynamics
— privacy, linked to new developments in chip design.
