President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with a project that could fundamentally change the approach to school education — AI Kitap. This is the first digital AI textbook developed by the international EdTech company CodiPlay, founded by Zhanadil Taldybayev.
The presentation took place during a historic event — the launch of the most powerful supercomputer in Central Asia, which occurred on July 9, 2025. This landmark event once again underscored the priority of digitalization for the country.
AI Kitap is not just an electronic textbook. It is a personalized AI assistant that analyzes what the student understands and where they struggle, selects tasks according to their level, explains mistakes, and even acts as a virtual AI mentor, providing hints and supporting motivation.
The content inside is not boring PDFs. Animations, videos, games, simulations, and live tasks are built directly into the lessons. Everything follows the school curriculum but in an interactive, modern format.
Starting from September 2025, AI Kitap will begin testing in "Comfortable Schools" across the country. The focus is on fifth graders and subjects such as mathematics, computer science, and the Kazakh language. Later, it will be scaled up.
The project is simultaneously launching in Qatar — in 80 schools. Additionally, a laboratory for implementing AI in education is being created at the Altynsarin Academy of Education. The investment volume in the project is $2 million.
CodiPlay is more than just a startup. It is a team that already operates in 13 countries and has reached over 1,200 schools with its digital skills ecosystem. Their products are recognized by the UN as Digital Public Goods and certified in Europe.
