OpenAI has opened a vacancy for a key position in the field of AI security.
OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, has opened a vacancy for a new important executive position — Head of Preparedness. This role is aimed at strengthening work on assessing and managing risks arising from the development of powerful AI systems.
CEO Sam Altman published a job posting on the social network X, emphasizing that new AI models are already demonstrating "real challenges." Among these challenges are the impact on users' mental health and the ability of models to find critical vulnerabilities in the field of computer security.
The new position is part of the Safety Systems team and involves responsibility for implementing the Preparedness Framework — OpenAI's internal strategy for tracking advanced AI capabilities that could pose risks of serious harm, as well as developing recommendations for addressing them.
What the Head of Preparedness will do:
— analyze potential threats from modern AI models
— develop strategies to protect against misuse of technologies
— coordinate risk assessment work in areas such as cybersecurity and biosecurity
— interact with teams of engineers, researchers, and policymakers within the company.
OpenAI offers a competitive compensation package — up to $555,000 per year plus company stock options.
