Nvidia invests $2 billion in CoreWeave to accelerate the construction of AI data centers
Nvidia announced a major $2 billion investment in CoreWeave, Inc., one of the leading providers of cloud solutions for artificial intelligence computing. According to Nvidia's press release, the funds will be directed toward accelerating the acquisition of land and electricity, as well as building new high-performance data centers, which CoreWeave refers to as "AI factories."
Under the agreement, Nvidia acquired CoreWeave Class A shares at a price of $87.20 per share, reflecting the company's strategic interest in the long-term development of artificial intelligence infrastructure. CoreWeave plans to expand its data center capacity to more than five gigawatts by 2030 to meet the growing global demand for AI computing power.
The companies will collaborate on integrating Nvidia hardware and software into CoreWeave's infrastructure. This will not only accelerate data center construction but also enable testing of new architectures and software solutions, ensuring higher efficiency and scalability of cloud services for artificial intelligence computing.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized that expanding cooperation with CoreWeave aims to meet global demand for high-performance AI computing and is part of "the largest deployment of artificial intelligence infrastructure in human history."
For its part, CoreWeave's management noted that Nvidia's investment will allow the company to accelerate the implementation of its projects, strengthen its position in the AI cloud services market, and provide support to customers who require large computing power for developing and deploying artificial intelligence models.
