Central Eurasia Mobile Apps: Updates and New Features Released in December

In December, several notable updates to mobile applications were released in Central Eurasian countries, ranging from digital government services to media and travel.

Azerbaijan

SalaryNOW

FinTech company Simbrella launched the SalaryNOW service, which allows employees to receive part of their salary in advance through a banking app without loans or interest, reducing financial stress and increasing loyalty to the employer.

Kinon Update

The Kinon app by Azercell has added AI for search and recommendations. Users can now find movies, series, and TV shows by entering natural phrases like “something funny for the evening” or “a movie for relaxation,” and the AI will select suitable content based on their requests and preferences. This makes navigation in the app simpler and more convenient.

Kazakhstan

Janymda Update

Beeline and the Daribar.kz service have combined their technologies within the Janymda superapp, allowing users to search, compare, and buy medicines from pharmacies directly in the app. Janymda now offers products from over 1,000 pharmacies, enabling users to compare prices, place online orders, choose pickup or fast delivery, receive pharmacist consultations, and earn up to 15% cashback on purchases.

COC Update

The app now allows users to issue a power of attorney for receiving services online. Everything is done on the phone: entering data, signing with an electronic signature, and the power of attorney is ready—another person can receive documents or services on your behalf without a personal visit.

Kyrgyzstan 

BakAi Update

The app has added the Astrasend service, which allows users to receive money transfers from Russia directly to their smartphones—quickly, without queues, and around the clock. Users simply need to open the app, select the international transfers section, enter the control number, and specify the card for crediting, after which the funds are transferred instantly.

Mega Update

The app now combines all Mega24 functions, transforming into a universal superapp. Users can manage tariffs, pay for services, make transfers, and use other digital services all in one place. The old Mega24 has become part of MegaPay, retaining its capabilities, while making the app easier and more convenient to use.

MBank Update

The app now allows paying for purchases at restaurants, stores, and other locations via Bluetooth without internet or QR codes, simply by holding the phone near the terminal. Additionally, the app enables users to buy cryptocurrency and stocks, manage investments, and use other financial services directly from their smartphone, making MBANK a full-fledged digital platform for daily operations.

“My City” Update

The app has expanded its real-time public transport tracking function to new cities in Kyrgyzstan—Osh, Kant, Manas, Talas, and Tokmok. Residents of these cities can now view bus and marshrutka movements on a map within the app, see routes, and track arrival times. The function will be further expanded to make the service available nationwide.

The e-Birja exchange has launched a mobile application that allows trading participants—sellers, buyers, and brokers—to work with trades directly from their smartphones: registering transactions, listing goods for sale, participating in real-time auctions, drafting contracts, and monitoring results.

ANORBANK Update 

ANORBANK has added a marketplace for business to its mobile and internet banking app, where companies can purchase goods and services in one place and pay for purchases directly from their bank account. Purchases are made more convenient thanks to transparent expense history, fast delivery, and no need for additional registration: everything is done within the Anorbank app, saving time and simplifying business expense management.
