The international studio WATT plans to release games through Uzbekistan
International game studio WATT Studio is launching its first project — the game GRIMPS — and is considering Uzbekistan as a platform for further publishing its projects and developing its team.
The studio's first project to be published from Uzbekistan will be GRIMPS. The game's release is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, while a demo version is already available on Steam.
The company plans to move its IP projects under the jurisdiction of Uzbekistan and publish games through the country. The possibility of hiring local specialists is also being considered.
One of the key factors in the choice was the existing system of double taxation avoidance agreements with the United States. This simplifies work with international platforms and foreign partners, and also allows increasing revenue by approximately 30%.
The studio initiated cooperation after establishing working contacts with the Creative Industries Agency and a December business trip to Uzbekistan. Today, WATT is considered one of the most promising game studios in the CIS.
The appearance of international game studios in the country can serve as an additional stimulus for the development of Uzbekistan's game development industry. This contributes to the exchange of experience, attraction of new specialists, and launch of joint projects, as well as strengthening the country's position as a promising platform for the development of the gaming industry and digital creative sectors.
