Meta has introduced smart glasses with AI and a display. Sales will begin on September 30, with the kit priced at $799 — along with the glasses, users will receive the Neural Band wristband for controlling the device. One of the lenses displays messages, video calls, and responses from Meta's built-in AI assistant. For photo and video recording, the glasses connect to a smartphone.
The presentation was not without glitches: the demonstration was interrupted by a Wi-Fi issue. However, Mark Zuckerberg emphasized that this is already a finished product, not a prototype.
Previously, in 2021, Meta released smart glasses in collaboration with Essilor Luxottica. Around 300,000 people purchased them at the time, but less than 10% remained active users. The new version features improved cameras, sound, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
