Google has introduced its most feature-rich Chromebook yet — the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, which combines hardware innovations with an extensive suite of AI-powered features. This is the first Chromebook with Dolby Atmos, featuring an OLED display, a fingerprint scanner, and the new MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor — the most powerful ARM chip to date. The device offers up to 17 hours of battery life, setting a new record among all Chromebook Plus models.
The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 includes two exclusive AI features. The first is Smart Grouping, which automatically analyzes and groups tabs and documents by semantic blocks, helping users quickly switch between tasks. The second is built-in AI image editing in the Gallery app, allowing users to remove backgrounds and create stickers directly from photos. Additionally, the device comes with wallpapers featuring images of Jupiter, created in collaboration with NASA, showing the planet at different times of day — dawn, noon, dusk, and night.
Alongside the launch of the new device, Google has added a range of AI-powered features across the entire Chromebook Plus lineup:
— Select to Search with Lens, which allows users to highlight any object on the screen and instantly find information about it or similar products without leaving the browser
— Text Capture, which extracts text from images — from recipes to handwritten notes — and converts it into an editable format
— Quick Insert key for generating images, inserting photos, and adding emojis directly into documents and presentations
— Help me read, which simplifies complex text and makes it easier to understand.
Chromebook Plus users will receive a 12-month subscription to Google AI Pro, including 2 TB of cloud storage and access to Gemini AI in Gmail, Google Docs, and other services, as well as the NotebookLM assistant, now available directly from the taskbar.
In addition, Google has optimized popular apps and games for ChromeOS — such as Netflix's Squid Game: Unleashed, supporting keyboard and mouse controls, and the photo editor Luminar, available with a three-month free trial for Chromebook Plus owners.
The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is now available for purchase on Lenovo.com and BestBuy.
