LEGO and SEGA have unveiled a Sega Genesis console set — releasing in June 2026
LEGO and SEGA have officially unveiled a new set dedicated to the iconic Sega Genesis console, also known as the Mega Drive. The announcement came shortly after the reveal of a new set based on Animal Crossing.
Set number 40926 is described as a detailed model that combines LEGO's creativity with a love for retro gaming. The build is not functional but accurately recreates the appearance of the original console.
Builders can assemble the set as a Sega Genesis or customize it to resemble a Mega Drive. The set includes detachable controllers and decorative stickers, allowing for customization of the device's appearance.
The set is scheduled for release on June 1, 2026. It will cost £34.99, €39.99, or $39.99.
The set contains 479 pieces. The assembled model measures over 4 cm in height, 16 cm in width, and 12 cm in depth. The controllers measure approximately 2 cm in height, 8 cm in width, and up to 24 cm in length.
Although the model does not support gameplay, it is aimed at collectors and retro gaming enthusiasts.
Additionally, it is noted that games for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive are available in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack library, and controllers styled after these consoles can also be purchased separately.
